Recently the MOE (Ministry of Education) announced that the reopening of schools has now been deferred to 3rd October starting with students sitting for exams (Form 5 & 6) in states that are in Phase 2 of the NRP (National Recovery Plan). In the meantime states that are in Phase 1 of the NRP will continue with PdPR (home-based teaching and learning) while all students in states that are in Phase 3 of the NRP will start school in stages. What do parents think of this? Check out our poll on school reopening in Oct. Yay or Nay. With Selangor eyeing a move to Phase 2 in September, exam students in the state may return to school in October too. Meanwhile PICK (Program Imunisasi COVID-19 Kebangsaan) may start vaccinating 12- to 17-year-olds against Covid-19 starting from mid September. If things turn out according to this plan, students will return to school for another 44 days of schooling before school breaks for the year-end holidays. Other topics being discussed in our group this week include: - What do kids and parents think of Chinese Calligraphy writing? - Should we encourage kids to do public speaking even if they say no? - How to help 9 year old who is weak in Chinese? - How to have confident children? Until next time, stay safe!
