With Covid cases reported in schools, and schools being closed on a case by case basis, we now look forward to school holidays as a short relief from school going days. So when is Hari Raya School Holidays?
Hari Raya 2021 falls on 13 May (Thur) and 14 May (Fri). The Ministry of Education has allocated 2 extra days for school holidays. They are on 11 May (Tue) and 12 May (Wed). In addition some schools may apply for extra school holidays, most likely on 10 May (Mon) to make it a weeklong holiday. Normally schools will send notices to parents should there be an extra holiday.
Official School Holidays for Hari Raya 2021 (including weekend)
11 May ( Tue) - 16 May (Sun)
Two weeks after that, school will break for mid year holidays from 28 May to 12 June (Kump B) or 29 May to 13 June (Kump A). Kump A schools are schools in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu. Kump B schools are schools in all other states.
With so many holidays in the horizon, and World Book Day on 23 Apr 2021, let's encourage our children to go on adventures through books and reading. Since extra-school curricular is limited and going out is restricted but there are no limitations when it comes to books. You can go anywhere and experience anything once you start on a story! Teaching our kids to love books and reading is giving them a gift for life.
